The week that Zach had off for fall break, we decided to take a road trip to some popular tourist sites in Eastern Pennsylvania. Our first stop was Hershey, home to the famous Chocolate World. Believe me when I say this attraction does not disappoint. It definitely lives up to its nickname as the "sweetest place on earth." But there should be an understood disclaimer that should read "do not enter if you have any sort of addiction to chocolate and/or to its enticing aroma." We, obviously, ignored any sort of disclaimer and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
They have a fun ride that takes you through the process of how chocolate is made.
Part of the narration of the ride is offered by singing cows!
Now that's what I call King Size!
Yes, you read correctly. Our next stop, Intercourse, PA in the Amish countryside of Lancaster county.
Enjoying some homemade Amish toys.
We then stopped in Strasburg and took a ride on their train. Avery had to bring along her souvenir cow from Chocolate World which she appropriately named "milky."
Our last stop was in Gettysburg. This is a monument dedicated to Abraham Lincoln and his famous Gettysburg Address.
Beautiful and overwhelming scenery.

That looks like so much fun! I love how Avery smiles for the camera. Can you get her to teach Ava how to do that? I've aways wanted to go to Hershey. We have been to Gettysburg and it is an awesome place. Looks like you guys had a great time! I'm not even going to ask what went on in Intercourse. :)
Love reading the blog and seeing pictures of cute Avery. It is still hard to believe you are all so far away. We love and miss all of you, but we are so excited for your Thanksgiving visit!!
